Playbill Project

From a young age, I was passionate about theatre. While I am expanding my artistic endeavors, I love the endless possibilities that a script can present. I wanted to practice my graphic design abilities by redesigning playbills and exploring how else these shows could have been marketed.

A Chorus Line

I love this musical and one of my favorite things about it is how it depicts the ugliness around freelance and creative work. The line that inspired this design is in the first part of the show:

"Who am I anyway? Am I my resume?"

I wanted to embrace the feelings of all the dancers auditioning in the show by demonstrating how difficult it is to stand out on a stack of resumes.

Bad Cinderella

The marketing campaign for this Broadway production was notoriously confused. After researching the show, I decided that the key to it is that this Cinderella is an outsider, vastly different from her townspeople and previous iterations. This design clearly demonstrates that key by using a symbol of punk history to destroy the classic symbol of the original Cinderella.
